The Ballet Theatre of Dover brings this beloved tale for all ages to the Schwartz Center for the Arts. The story tells of how a young girl risks her life to save an ugly Nutcracker doll and breaks an age-old spell that transforms him into a handsome prince who takes her on a magnificent journey to the Kingdomg of Sweets. The story unfolds into a whirlwind of dances to Tschaikovsky's immortal music... from battling rats, swirling snowflakes, dancing Candy Canes, a magical Gingerbread house, and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy! A holiday tradition at the Schwartz Center for the Arts!

Read Aloud Delaware’s 5th Annual Nutcracker Tea is an elegant event sure to delight adults and children of all ages. The Nutcracker Tea will be complete with a visit from of the costumed characters from the Ballet Theatre of Dover’s production of The Nutcracker. Beautiful nutcrackers will adorn the holiday- themed dining room where guests will be treated to a traditional afternoon full tea including an assortment of fine savories, pastries, scones, and Nutcracker inspired teas.
*Dress up appreciated but not required
